TABULA RASA VIDEO

dearest friends,
I've been crazy busy these past few weeks but I'm excited to show the lookbook video I directed for the store I work at, Tabula Rasa. The video is a set of five mini fashion films based on the store's five spring collections; Black Cat, High Tide, Mon Cheri, New Tribe and Block Party. I had an amazing time thinking up ways to translate these collections into the moods that they represent. I had a great team to work with that made the videos what they are. My good friend and creative partner, Amanda Leal built all the sets you see...I don't know anyone else who can make a fantasy world filled with paper flowers and waves like this girl! Huge thanks are also owed to Julian Gray and Nick Augustyn who gave their film expertise and were responsible for shooting, lighting and editing. I learnt a lot from them and hope to make more videos in the future! I can't forget to thank the lovely Christina Spina, who did amazing hair and makeup! We were running on a tight schedule but this amazing girl managed to pump out five different looks, one for each story. She never dissapoints and she'll always be my go-to makeup artist. My sister Erika McMeekin was also a huge help the day of the shoot, doing anything that needed to be done, be that helping me with styling problems, getting on a ladder to blow bubbles for the High Tide scene or being the crew's cheerleader (or "head of entourage" as she likes to call it). I'm so lucky to have her to support me in my creative endeavours and just having that extra set of hands helped out so much. Finally, I have to give a huge shout-out to the beautiful Justine Mark who modeled in the films and managed to be everything I could hope for...and more! This girl has talent and is such a natural beauty and by far the best shots are when her own personality comes through. I can't believe how she just dove right into the first shot like such a pro and she helped keep everyone's spirits up the entire shoot. All in all, I couldn't be any luckier with the people I have to collaborate with and support me in all these projects I do. Take a look at the video and get excited for spring!
