lost girls

a few months ago I did some styling for the my friend Eva's vintage boutique Tomorrow Never Knows. We shot a few looks for her fall lookbook at Riverdale Farm. It was a great day with a great team and her clothes were so fun to work with. She has a really great eye for fun and unique pieces and it's always great collaborating with a friend who has similar taste and style.

siri-ously

I first noticed Norweigan beauty Siri Tollerød in an issue of Lula magazine and immediately was struck by her simple, doe-eyed look. Today I was talking to a woman who spent some time in Norway and she said that the entire place is full of beautiful people. Siri is a prime example of what I imagine the whole country to look like. That being said...if the rule applies to the opposite sex, I'm hopping on a plane to Norway!

the catorialist

anyone who knows anything about me knows my cat lady status (still at a sane level...i hope) and how my voice goes up three octives when i see any feline. over the years i've become obsessed with kitty's in fashion, from miu miu's prowling cat prints to united bamboo's chat calendar. i've compiled some of my favourite feline fashion moments below, from various editorials, ad campaigns and runway shows. enjoy!

Crown and Country

IDA SJÖSTEDT has been designing since 2001 and shows at Stockholm Fashion Week. Her spring collection is fun, frilly and feminine and does a good job in summarizing her distinct style. The collection has a regal theme and pays homage to queens throughout history, from Marie Antoinette's naturalistic field wear to Anne Boleyn's daring, dark gowns.

how swede of you!

September is officially the month of all things Sweden! Although, techinically my past year or so has been all about obsessing about anything Scandinavia.
Today I'm loving this shoot for the line Ida SjÖstedt (more to come about them later) styled by Sofie Krunegard and photographed by Marcus Palmqvist.

i'm on my way to the you ess ay

Jens. My love.
I check his website everyday. I write him emails about him coming to Toronto. He writes back. He doesn't have any plans to come anytime soon. He is very sweet in his responses. I would cut off my right arm to see him. And now! He has a North American show...in L.A. Far away, yes. But closer than Australia (where he lives now). At the Mondrian Skybar, it looks so beautiful. And...it's free! To fly that far for one night with Jens?

here's looking at you, kid!

I stumbled across Sandra Freij's photography while I was researching Swedish stylists, film makers and other creatives. Her work for MILK magazine is the most adorable shoot I've ever seen. I've been noticing amazing children's fashion photography lately and this is probably the best example of it. Enjoy!
